About New Tech Network
History and Growth of New Tech Network for more information.
New Tech schools use a different model of learning and teaching compared to traditional high school. Incorporating a culture of trust, respect, and responsibility, students learn to take ownership of their actions and their school experience. “Teachers” in New Tech are called facilitators, and they are there to guide and coach so the student has room to take control of his or her learning and become an active participant.
WHAT IS PROJECT-BASED LEARNING?
Project-based learning combines learning subject content with practicing 21st-century skills. Students are given in-depth and real-life projects and while working in groups, the students conduct research, collaborate, and discover real-life solutions. In the process of discovery, students are learning critical thinking and organizational skills, leadership skills, time management, and work ethic and collaboration abilities. Most projects end with a presentation giving students the chance to share their real-life solutions with classmates. Visit Project-Based Learning for more information.
