DeKalb New Tech is excited to announce that during the December 18th School Board meeting, a motion was approved to allow New Tech students in Consumer Communications to develop proposals for future use of the property where the former McIntosh High School was located.

The students will work with community partners to learn more about zoning, funding, construction and maintenance issues as these all must be considered when writing their proposals.  The proposal must show how their use of the property has a positive impact and benefits the community.

Proposals will be authentic containing a summary, visual aids, timelines of the phases of construction and any other pertinent information.  Selected proposals will be made with the partnering community members to the DeKalb Central School Board for consideration.

UPDATE:  Students went on a field trip last week to the McIntosh plot and actually learned how to survey the land.  Pictured below is Andrew Graves surveying the McIntosh plot.
