New Tech students in Consumer Communications are collaborating with J.R. Watson Elementary School’s administration, staff, librarian, and students to give Watson’s library a makeover!  J.R. Watson is transforming into an International Baccalaureate school, and would like to give the library a new feel.

The DNT students must research the core values of J.R. Watson and International Baccalaureate schools and redecorate the Watson library to reflect those values.  Students must keep the design realistic, and that means staying within budget and utilizing existing space.

Students will conduct research through formal reading, field experience, and interview.  They will learn about requisitions, itemized invoices, purchase orders, and formal proposals. DNT will use various tools to communicate with the stakeholders in this project.  Options for communicating include Google Forms, Skype, telephone, and email.

The students are excited to be a part of this transformation for J.R. Watson, and we can’t wait to see their designs!
